Across the EV sector people are moving – DJ Novotney becomes SVP for Vehicle Programs at Rivian and Jason Allbutt moves to UK CEO at Smart
DJ NOVOTNEY JOB FROM : VP OF ENGINEERING , APPLE JOB TO : SVP VEHICLE PROGRAMS , RIVIAN management , product development and engineering will help us to continuously improve the way we program manage bringing vehicles to market – everything from engineering and product planning to customer deliveries .”
Novotney has a passion for creating incredible products with cutting-edge technology . He can manage multi-hundred-million dollar budgets , negotiate complicated contracts , oversee development agreements and more .
At the University of Utah , Novotney studied B . S . Applied Physics from 1993 to 1997 . After a stint at Bay Associates , he joined Apple in 1999 and rose to become Vice President of Engineering . Novotney is an inaugural member of the original iPod team and was instrumental in leading Apple ’ s first-generation of products .
At Rivian , Novotney ’ s background in product development and engineering will help the team to improve the way it brings vehicles to market .
